I bought 4 more strands of Rattlesnake beads they just came today. They date late 1800s to early 1900s. They are African trading beads and can be hard to find. Some point hunters like to add them to their displays of points. I think I've cornered the market on them 😁. There are some other types mixed in like skunk eye and the black and yellow ones. Those beads are more rare than the black and white. Good investment cause the nicer beads are getting harder to find. Each strand is at least 30 inches long and the beads average 9-14 mm. Beauty’s, love the beads, I’ve always thought they were underrated, they add so much to a frame of points, or whatever..

Those are neat. That color pattern does look like a reptile.

Do remind of rattler, looks like binders twine hemp they are strung with.

Not sure on the string but its nothing you should actually wear unless you restring them imo. Most times I believe they string them when they are sold. The strand with the one blue bead is definitely 14 mm. I bought all they had and I believe they substituted that strand. The other strands are 9-10 mm.

Thanks Tom some of the other beads mixed in are skunk eye, Zen and the black and yellow rattlesnake type but most are the black and white rattlesnake beads.

I'd love to see some close-ups. I'm totally ignorant on trade beads.
