Lets go for something a little different. I have been showing off some of my better recent finds lately,
but not everyone who has a metal detector makes those fabulous finds that make us all drool.
In fact just like point hunting we all find things that we just wish we had found years ago.
Chase has mentioned finding metal points that crumble when touched.
I am sure that most of us have some finds to share here so have some fun.
Modern Canadian clad is simply crap. It is a steel core covered by a very thin layer of cladding so it tends to rust very quickly.
This is actually a hollow dime. only the cladding remains.
I call this one a copper washer. It was a penny.
To give you an idea of what a quarter looks like when found.
Of course there are other reasons for the find being roached. Salt water for one can destroy a silver coin.
This one was a 1904 quarter.
Can you guess which Washington State Tax token was found in the ocean.
Sometimes the destruction is man made like this Belgian 2 centime
Some times the damage is caused by fertilizer.
2 identical 1900 Victoria City dog tags.
