Mike called and got me out of my funk.

Yesterday I was still out of sorts about the digging on the putting green.
And I debated for quite a while on whether I would go out at all.
So I was sitting in the easy chair contemplating a long winters nap.
When I received a text from Mike.
"hey bruce... ive got the go ahead for a couple hours to detect...need any company?"
Well that did it and out the door I went.
I suggested a place that had some possibilities and it didn't disappoint.
Very little trash.

And what pennies were there had some age to them.
Forgive the extra close up pic I was trying to show the early smalls.

When you find that many early pennies something else just has to be hiding there.

This I think is a 1912 it took a little work to try and see the date.

All in, not to bad for a little over 2 1/2 hours of digging.

Nothing worse than a winter funk. In spring I can dig in the garden or sit out in the gazebo enjoying a book. Summer I can jump in the pool or lay in the hammock watching the eagles ride the thermals. Fall brings long walks on the beach. But winter can sure bring on a case of the moody blues at the most unexpected moments.

It's a bad day when Bruce AKA Miner-Miner 49er is in a funk. Thanks Mike. I felt the vibes all the way down here in North Carolina. My Wife said Fort Bragg may have had an Artillery Exercise going on but I know better now.

Deb I totally agree. Normally I am not affected by the weather. I have lived here on the island since 81 and have had no problems. This shows the average temps here in Victoria. But as you can see lately they have been lower than normal And when you toss in the wind and rain coming off the ocean and cloudy days it is not nice to be digging in wet ground.
