I have been finding these at random places over about a mile and a half stretch.
And thought incorrectly that they were gun sites as I have found quite a number of WW1 related items in the same area.
Well the other day a member of a different site was looking at my cast off recycle pile and noticed one sitting there.
And he correctly identified it for me.

I think that it's cool to learn new things about the stuff I find.
I managed to dig up four of them from the brass bucket and he was totally right.
