On Sunday I had an hour and a half to kill while I waited to meet up with some out of town friends.
I had started in an out of the way corner of a park when a lady walking her dog approached and asked if I would like to make a good find.
She proceeded to walk over to an area that was about 20' by 50' and explained that she and a friend had been sitting in this area 4 months ago.
The friend was mauled by a friendly dog and in the process she had unknowingly had a "large" (her description not mine) gold and diamond earring knocked off.
They had returned later in the day but were unable to find the earring.
She then informed me that if I found it there was no need to return it as her friend had already received $900 from the insurance company for it's replacement.
Not wanting to seen like a vulture I returned to my starting point but curiosity got the better of me.
So, setting the sensitivity lower than ever, I proceeded to search only the top 2" of ground and went on the hunt for pull tabs.
An hour into the hunt it was put on hold as the time for meeting up with the friends came all too quickly.
For the next 5 hours of the day we walked all over the downtown area taking in the sites.
Jeung Su Noh was an English as a second language student from Korea that we housed over 16 years ago.
And he returned with his family to show them Victoria. The little one was really starting to tire out when we reached to top of Beacon Hill so I carried her on my shoulders back to their hotel.
That is why she is still spunky and he is all funky.
After leaving them to recuperate the search for pull tabs resumed.
And yes they were found.
That particular earring failed to show under the coil but these clunkers didn't. And although this is a nice find it is just plated. Payment for my professional services are always minimal.
