As the title indicates this post is a combination of finds over the last 3 days.
Most of you know that conditions here are very dry and going for depth in most cases is out of the question.
So I have been continuing stay the course and clear the way for hopefully better fall hunting.
#1 In dry conditions drop your sensitivity and hunt the surface.
While doing this remove as much trash as possible. It makes going deep all that much easier later.
And yes that is a metal bocce ball. Can you imagine what could happen if a lawnmower hit it while kids were nearby?
#2 save your brass and copper recyclables as it all adds up later on.
You may ask why the heck I am calling some of those things recyclable.
The yo yo will be put in a tot lot for kids to play with.
The dragon ring and silvered button will be tossed out at my next fun hunt.
And the tweezers are already in my travel kit.
#3 if you are going to try and find modern Canadian clad coins you must hunt the grunt.
#4 be ready to find some keepers.
This Victorian era styled button was just a whisper of sound. But the CTX picked it up because of it's size.
This was Saturday's keeper and it took a while to dig down the 6" to get it.
After a little lemon juice cleaning I think that it was worth saving.
#5 And most importantly, for all of you who hate digging pennies.
Smarten up or leave them for guys like me.
Only 2" deep and yes it was a penny signal.
This in Sunday's keeper.
A sterling dinner ring by Danecraft.
