First attempt at a gem point

I know this is pathetic but I learned a lot trying. It was obsidian and I didn't make the preform thin enough to get the barbs the way I wanted. Did manage to drive a flake into my hand and being on blood thinner I had to wait a few hours before going back to flaking this time with gloves.

Hey oldrocks, Way to go and you will improve with every point. I always wear cut resistant gloves. One time I drove a flake deep into my knuckle. That one went to the bone and took a long time to heal.

Ouch, thats not great. Mine went into my thumb pad about 3/16 in. Didn't even know it happened till the pad turned red.
