  • 4.5" Edwards Root Beer Knife

This time I picked out a thick spall and that's why I got some extra large waste flakes.

Man I like this one a lot. Top second from the right is textbook example of the bulb from the conversation the other day.

Thanks Dave, That waste flake does have a large bulb. The percussion strike was with great force. In the bottom row, second waste flake on the left has a large bulb too.

Thanks Bret, I never heated any Root Beer. I read that some people do heat it but I never saw a reason for cooking it.

I have no idea as to how far Edwards is traveled Ron. It’s just beautiful and the NA people loved it from paleo, right up to the end. Your example shows why they loved the lithic material !

I "used" about 70% of it, but I have not gotten the hang of it yet. I still create unearthly hinges and steps, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hey Ethan, Keep trying Buddy: You'll get the hang of it. It is a tough chert. The Ancient People must have loved it because they used a lot of it.
