In the early 2000’s, bison market busted. 2-3 year old bulls 900-1200 pounders $500-800 per. At that size/age, real good eating. Kicked them out in a township sized summer range and sold spot and stock hunts..

Same thing happened here. My dad bought a dozen or so. They became 20, then 30... bottom fell out... kept them in an electrified pasture, near the county road. had one huge bull... rich doctor wanted to "hunt it". Paid dad twice what it was worth for it. One night one of the calves was stolen. Found a few days later floating in a river 30 miles away.. we sold out after that.
