Cape Cod (MA) deer wonder....

We live on a peninsula, so to speak, into a huge salt marsh, filled with creeks, one navigable. Barrier beach 1.9 miles distant. The marsh gets filled with deer during the rut. This AM there was over a dozen deer including half dozen healthy bucks, chasing does. We are watching does flirt and “hucklebutt” in front of bucks. This buck just got off the back of the doe! We see bucks battle every once in a while, but we’ve never seen them “couple” until today.
