Old Bone Found

Bison would be my guess. Maybe horse the extinct one or cow. They are so similar I can’t tell difference. But my gut says it’s very old. At least in my area the sediment really preserves bones well.

Also look for butchery marks on bone from the Indians. Sometimes you can find em with distinct cut marks and were they busted bone to eat marrow.

really cool when you find one like that. My opinion I get more excited about this than a perfect point.

I am keeping it moist for now and I will be drying it so I can preserve it. As far as what it is I’ll never know. But I know the river bank near by could have easily been a river crossing that would have been used by all. All other river banks are very steep and not like the easy slopping hill on one side and an ancient flood plain on the other. I wish the other bones found would have held together but as soon as I touch them they disintegrate.
