I found this piece of Flint Ridge in a field in Bullitt Co KY. Some local collectors have said no way I found it there, but yet here it is undeniable Nethers chert and only I know where I pulled it from the dirt. Not sure why others find it inconceivable. You guys might think differently? It may have some work along some of the edges, but I just think it's interesting mostly because of the material and its displacement.
Here are a couple of busted up Hopewell? points that perhaps may explain the displacement of the material. Afterall, Bullitt Co KY is adjacent to the Ohio River and we're not THAT far down stream of OH... The Hopewell points appear to be made out of Sonora . A shame this site has really colorful materials yet the knappers didn't seem to know how to work it that well...
Do you guys think this semi-translucent one is Flint Ridge as well?
I threw in this stemmed point too because it came from the same site and I like it and thought you guys might too. Not sure of it's material either?
