Well now BA - I'm sure you're gonna get some real tear jerkers with this thread. But I'll get it going. This is my first ever find here on the mountain about 12 years ago. I was soooo excited about finding it, I grabbed it out of the ground and headed for the house to show my wife. Her question when I showed it to her was - "where's the rest of it?" I looked it over and realized it was a fresh break so the rest should be where I found this piece. Could never find that exact spot again.

Wonderful artifact regardless of being broken!

That's priceless ...what your wife said Chuck...and that's a way cool tool for a first find in home kicking grounds... Red

Dang, Chuck, the fact that you could never find that spot again might be more heartbreaking than the actual artifact itself. That would have been a super nice chipped adze but it is still a nice find regardless of the breaks.

I have too many to show. LOL Sorry I have nothing in some of the pictures for scale. The broken fluted point is Onandaga Chert found by my Dad years ago in Western CT. It is in the CT fluted point survey. The photo with the two pieces of Rhyolite and the ruler is actually of two different blades found in close proximity. My cousin has another we think they were killed points all were broken on that same angle. suface finds from a multi component site in Western CT.
That broke bannerstone came out of the same field as the big broken blades.

This is one of my earliest finds, and still one of my favorite pieces out of everything I have. A perfectly symmetrical quartzite Stark blade wicked waterworn and polished. Starks are one of my favorite styles of points and the clean snap on this one truly breaks my heart. Click image for larger version

Hey Jay. Is that point ground flat like that or is that from creek tumbling?

In hand the work is very evident, and yes the water and sand polished it heavily. Shape isn’t the only key Chuck, though it is a perfect Stark example as far as shape, but the work and material as well

Click image for larger version Name:	GEDC1523.JPG Views:	1 Size:	78.4 KB ID:	318232 This one has a little Story. Eighteen year's ago or so I was walking around a Glade behind The House and My imagination was running wild a bit. While walking down The Hill I got The idea I was in a Camp. I started seeing these Rock's There. I think I was sick and It was Winter and It started Raining or Snowing but as I was walking back and forth checking out The Rock's (Preforms I thought lol) This popped out of The Dirt. I believe It's a Sedalia Heartbreaker and I probably have a better pic of It. Will get It on if found.
