I enjoy fishing for Crappie, and catch a lot of bass in the process.

But my passion for fishing is fueled by pursuing Flathead Catfish on rod and reel. My personal best Flat on R/R stands at 57 lb.

Have caught hundreds if not thousands 20 to 40 lb over the years.

But this tends to happen when you're raised by your farmer/river rat grandfather to teach you old school river tactics since a guy was old enough to walk...living in close proximity to world class flathead fishing (Neosho River)....farming 10K acres of prime river bottom ground and having full access to all the best fishing spots...and growing up on the family farm which was less than a mile away from muddy waters. Never know how big that next Yella cat will be. 4 lb. 40 lb. 50. Bigger ones in there. It's a rush to feel that ever so light bite...then suddenly realizing that you have a river monster on the end of your line that has no intention of losing the fight.
A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something that he can learn in no other way!
