I thought ok let’s see I guess it’s those 2 small Duvals
Nooooo that was the spring before .
2019 was a year of broken points , broken bases and tips for days and scrappers .
Thats it folks no whole points .
2020 has to be good .Last edited by Tam; 01-10-2020, 02:09 PM.

Well, it wasn't a point, or anything prehistoric. Instead, it was an early American sleigh bell. Packed with dirt, so I couldn't hear the little pellet inside, and I did not know what it was otherwise(duh?). So I did almost throw it back in the dirt, but liked the design, so I kept it. My research said c. 1790-1845. Clearly my best find for 2019.

2019 was certainly my best year as major flooding last winter washed a lot of stuff out.
Also was fortunate to have plenty of time to look.
I think I averaged an artifact-a-day most likely. Mostly scrapers and flake tools but also a fair number of points, one or two of which are very nice indeed.
Also extremely pleased to have found mortars and pestles which are probably the defining artifacts for the acorn cultures that populated these valleys.
So top finds are this beautiful Houx Contracting Stem (found last month) and this awesome Hopper mortar.
Hope 2020 can keep the streak going but doubt I can be that lucky.
