The best Dalton I ever found is the one I use as my avatar. I showed it once in another thread someone started about Daltons.
The best Clovis I found is probably the "mother" of all heartbreakers. If the tip were there it would probably measured a bit over 4 inches long and perfectly symmetrical and quite thin for a Clovis that long and with long flutes on both sides.

No doubt they are on my second site I like to hunt. Was able to see an old collection someone had of a nearby location found when the property was still a farm. Lots of Lecroys and early archaic stuff. If that's there then the slightly older stuff is too. Just have to find it.

It is a super dandy beautiful point but It's not a Dalton and does not look Paleo to me although the transverse flaking on this side makes it look like a really old type. What type are you calling it? I don't know where your hunting grounds are located but if I found it on my old hunting grounds I would probably call it a Benton, a Middle Archaic type.Last edited by sailorjoe; 08-16-2021, 10:54 AM.
