I have the opportunity to hunt a possible indian camp. On a bluff above where two rivers and a creek join. Not sure where to start looking. Would old fire ring areas be visible? Any advice would be appreciated.

Test pits! Every so many feet. Looking for chips/artifacts/soil profile changes/burn spots. I'd check the creek/river jnx first. Sorry if you are in a rocky spot! sounds exciting. There is little reason to not think there would be a camp in that kind of location.Professor Shellman

Well hopefully the soil on your bluff is sandy loam and not clay. Clay is a bear to dig. You mentions fire rings are there any visible?TN formerly CT Visit our store http://stores.arrowheads.com/store.p...m-Trading-Post
