What an absolutely beautiful day it was.
This was the calm before the storm.
When Daniel and I arrived on the beach just before 8am it was so very peaceful.[ After scarfing down some Mickey D's breakfast we set about putting up the flags.
And Daniel even posed for a rare picture. #GOMINELABING Not everyone made it out for the starting gun at 10am.
However by noon we had 32 diggers swinging their coils on the beach for the group picture. The reason why I said earlier "This was the calm before the storm." is that at times there was an army of diggers swinging away. Some of the smallest diggers who could not swing a coil were very happy to hit the kids zone. I tried to make it around and assist those who needed guidance.
Due to many of them not having hit a saltwater beach before.
As the signals got fewer and fewer it soon became time to hold the draws and give away the prizes.
This young man made out like a bandit.
Kai was the winner of the first draw by winning the Minelab GO FIND 40. And he barely squeaked in a win for the smallest token found.
His token was the smallest by less than a millimeter in size.
For the silver coin draw two of the winners did not attend the hunt.
Eric aka threedawgs and John aka Geobound will receive their coins shortly.
Jim aka mcgraw2003 was on site and snapped up the 1843 5 francs coin without any hesitation. John aka Humper was the winner of the Makro pinpointer.
