Today driving into work, I heard a commercial telling me it is National Meat-Free Day urging everyone to eat entirely vegan. It went on to interview chefs who all told me they could prepare a meal using tofu and gluten as mock meat and I would not know the difference. First of all, does this seem a bit hypocritical. Why sell the concept of avoiding meat by assuring people they can make it taste like meat. If you are going to all the trouble to make Mock Meat, just have meat, and the only way you are going to trick me is if you drowned the "mock meat" in gravy or sauce which would be just as bad for me as having that T-bone. As for me, I am craving a Monster Burger at Hardees today. Have a great Meat-Free Day
