It is mantis mating season now and i can't hardly walk out my front door now and not have a pair plop down on me they just like to hang out on top of the door trim for some reason .

Man I loved these when I was growing up. I used to collect the egg sacks and put them in a jar and watch them hatch. We do not have them or very many down here in FL. I never see them here compared to NJ and SC...

The egg cases (the oothecae) are easy to spot in the fall, and left on the stick; are easy to place around the garden as a deterrent to harmful insects.
