I got my secret Santa today. I was blown away with what i got. I didn't expect it, the pieces Ron Kelly made are absolutely amazing and the scrapers are beautiful. I would of had a hard time giving them up. It was so fun getting all them that I decided I better send a second box to my secret Santa.

This is such a fun story .
I received my Secret Santa from Hoss and he was reading my mind! I am tired of walking around with a lighter so what does every off they grid gal want ? Yap a old English forged flint striker with a bag of Flint . He was kind enough to give up a beautiful Jacks reef corner notch and Levana point I’ll never find .
A soapstone sculpture . Pics and cards I can frame with a point he knapped . Great book to read and English Gun Flint .
Did I miss anything there was so much .

SurfaceHunter, strike-a-lites date back to colonial times here in North America. It was the only way the Whites had to strike a spark for fire starting. For those who hunt fur trade posts, finding one of those can make your day.

Hey Tamara, The best luck i have had in catching a spark: A piece of char cloth and some ground chaga. And then go to a good tinder bundle.

So I come in from work last night to see a medium flat rate addressed to me, oh boy! Jo, the thought that went into this box is awesome. I first read the card which was very thoughtful! I first opened the cheese straws, ate one, then another. A very cool book was in the box, In the hands of the great spirit, a 20,000 year history of American Indians. I thumbed through it for a few minutes and I am looking forward to reading it. I then proceeded to open the rhyolite and quartz points which is something we very rarely see here and I have not personally found. I was involved in a few secret santa events on Arrowheadology and I have to say, this is the coolest, most well thought out gifts I have received! Thank you! The cheese straws won't last, the book will be read in short order and the artifacts will find a new home in their own case! Well done!!!!!

ID:	410634 Tonight as I was unpacking all the Amazon and Target packages received in the last week and a half I found a package from Tomf. I guess my husband put it with all the other packages waiting to be opened and wrapped. Much to my surprise it was my secret santa package. Tom sent some obsidian tools, a book, Native American Testimony, about Indian and White relations, and a Whispering Wind publication. Already on page 30 of the book, and decided I'd better stop and post my thank you! The book is so good! And the obsidian is amazing. It's so different from my local lithics and sharp too. Thank you so much Tom!

Flintknappers are skilled box packers. I unpacked a box from a flintknapping company, and when I went to put the stuff back in the box, I only got half of it back in.

Looks like it got there early. You're welcome, Johnny. I'm glad you like it. I didn't really know what to send to the guy that has all the cool stuff already.
The scraper collection is a good representation of the different scraper types I find on one of my favorite sites. The pottery all came from the same field. The general provenance is NW Scott county Missouri. If you want exact provenance for record keeping you can pm me.
